Born in Bagarkot Dadeldhura, I completed the first 4 years of school at Sharada Ni Ma Bi School Sirad. I completed undergraduate (BSc) from Siddhanath Science Campus and went to Kathmandu for Master's Degree in Population Studies from the Central Department of Population Studies. During 1998 and 2006, I had worked for several educational institutions, NGOs and the United Nations food aid organisation, WFP. In late 2006, I went to Scotland for doing MSc in Public Health and also completed PhD in injury prevention research in 2013 from Bristol in England.

Between July 2017 and September 2021, I worked as a Research Fellow at UWE Bristol (UK) for NIHR-Global Health Research Project in Nepal also known as Nepal Injury Research Centre (NIRC). The objective of this project is to establish a functioning Injury Research Centre in Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) in Nepal. I am a Public Health researcher with particular interest in Global Health and International Public Health. My recent work is more on injury prevention and safety promotion where I have used a range of approaches to achieve research objectives​ -- from mixed-methods to community mobilisation. I have also worked as a visitng Research Advisor to RoSPA (UK) for a year since October 2021.

I am working in the fields of injury prevention, child protection, safety promotion and apply qualitative and quantitative research methods, project management and with an established record of written and oral communication skills. As a researcher I have worked as a member of teams as well as independently. I am a self-motivated and passionate in developing sustainable injury prevention strategies and knowledge transfer between high and low-income country settings. I am a member of the networks of professionals in the fields of drowning prevention, road safety, child injury prevention and global health. I strive for advocacy around safety promotion through developing networks, media and international peer reviewed journals. I am a Fellow member of of the International Society of Global Health (ISoGH). I am also a member of Britain-Nepal Academic Council (BNAC). I have received Gold Medal from the President of Nepal for my doctoral study on the Epidemiology of Child Injuries which is the first in Nepal. I am also associated with a number of international peer reviewed public health journals as a member of Editorial Board or a reviewer.
